Now being issued to all operational UK armed forces personnel. The enhanced Combat Application Tourniquet® (C-A-T®) stops arm or leg blood flow caused by battlefield injuries. The C-A-T is a small and lightweight one-handed tourniquet that completely occludes arterial blood flow in an extremity. The C-A-T® uses a self-adhering band and a friction adaptor buckle to fit a wide range of extremities combined with a one-handed windlass system. The windlass uses a free moving internal band to provide true circumferential pressure to an extremity. The windlass is then locked in place; this requires only one hand, with the Windlass Clip™. The C-A-T® also has a Hook-and-Loop Windlass Strap™ for further securing of the windlass during patient transport. PLEASE NOTE: The C-A-T is for use on adults in an emergency situation only. The C-A-T is only to be used by trained personnel, medics or emergency responders. This is the enhanced model. One size fits all. Colour: black.
A tourniquet makes a significant difference in a life or death situation. The C-A-T® tourniquet design offers the same benefits to EMS users as it has over the past 3 years for America’s military soldiers. This model is supplied in a day-glo, bright orange color to provide a confirmed visual aid that an emergency tourniquet has been used on the casualty. Sucking chest wounds caused by small arms, shrapnel, knives or other penetrating chest trauma require an emergency first aid solution that is fast, direct and effective. The Bolin Chest Seal (BCS) is specifically engineered to meet these critical needs. Replacing the Asherman in the British Armed Forces, the Bolin Chest Seal uses hydrogel and therefore stays in place, even in difficult battlefield conditions. The BCS is a sterile occlusive chest wound dressing for treating open pneumothorax and for preventing tension pneumothoraxs. The patented failure-proof triple-valve design of the BCS allows air and blood to escape while preventing the re-entry of either, thereby eliminating any unwanted gas or liquid exchange at the trauma site. Supplied in sterile packaging. Size: 14cm (diameter). Weight: 30g.
